DESCRIPTION:Hey dads\, grandpas\, and father figures!\nBring your kids (ages 3 to 5th grade) to help build Lemonade Stands for our local community outreach initiative. These stands will be part of kits that families can borrow to give out free drinks and invite people to church. \nWe’ll provide a model stand\, and you’ll work in teams of 4-6 to build and paint. Bring a drill set and safety goggles if you have them\, or we can provide extras. Plus\, one lucky winner gets a kid’s toolset! DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun Family Day of hiking at one of our local trails! The Wiashal Trail Loop (also referred to as the Cole Canyon Trail) which is a 1.9-mile loop trail in West Murrieta. Mike and Kim Westaway have hiked this trail with their three boys countless of times and will be your guides. This event is put on by the Young Family Ministry (but anyone is welcome to join in on the hike!)\nWhile this trail is generally considered an easy hike\, if stairs are difficult to maneuver\, then this trail may be too difficult. \nHIKE: We’ll hike the Wiashal Trail in Murrieta \nCOST: Free! \nTHE PLAN:\n9:00am: Meet near the following address\, at the end of Calle Cipres:\n38300 Calle Cipres\nMurrieta\, CA\n92562 \nPARKING:\nPlease DO NOT park in the cul-de-sac and fill the end of the street. We have a lot of cars and are trying not to inconvenience the neighbors in the area. There is a lot of parking along Calle Cipres that is not near driveways and you can also park on Oak Bluff Lane or Rustic Road near the small parks. \n9:15am: The group hike starts\, expected duration    1:30-2:00hrs depending on our pace and kid exploring time \nDIRECTIONS:\nFrom the north\, take 15 South to the Clinton Keith exit\, and turn right onto Clinton Keith Rd.\nLeft onto Palomar St.\nRight onto Calle del Oso Oro\nPark along Calle Cipres which is at the traffic light on Calle del Oso Oro\, one side of Oso Oro is Vía Moreno (towards Cole Canyon Elementary) the other side is Calle Cipres. \nFrom the south\, take 15 North to California Oaks Rd. exit\nand turn left onto California Oaks Rd./Kalmia St.\nRight onto Washington Ave.\nLeft onto Calle de Oso Oro\nPark along Calle Cipres which is at the traffic light on Calle del Oso Oro\, one side of Oso Oro is Vía Moreno (towards Cole Canyon Elementary) the other side is Calle Cipres. \nWHAT TO BRING?\nPlease bring water for all in your party and snacks. \nWHAT IF I’M LATE? \nText or Call Kim at 218-839-4552 or Mike at 218-839-4082\, and we can try to give you directions to catch up or wait a couple of minutes if you’re close by. DESCRIPTION:Joshua Tree National Park is one of the most beautiful places on earth and it’s less than 2 hours from Cornerstone. There are amazing boulders to climb and the trails are easy for even young children. If you’ve never been this is your chance to join other families & singles for this amazing day of easy hiking. Pastor Andy & his wife Shannon have hiked these trails a few times and will be your guides. This event is put on by the Young Families ministry (but anyone is welcome to join in on the hike!) \nHIKES: We’ll hike the following two easy trails that are very family & elderly friendly: \n#1 Hidden Valley Nature Trail \n#2 Barker Dam Trail \nCOST: $35 (paid directly to the national park) \nTHE PLAN:\n7:00am: Depart your home\n8:45am: Arrive at “West Entrance Station”\n9:00am: Park opens (pay $35 fee)\n10:00am: Hike Hidden Valley Nature Trail\n11:00am: Eat a lunch you bring\n11:30am: Hike Barker Dam\n12:30pm: Depart Joshua Tree for home \nDIRECTIONS:\nWe are not carpooling. Please check your GPS with the goal of arriving in your car at the West Entrance Station between 9am-9:15am to be on time for the first hike. There is a bathroom at the entrance of the park and at each hike entrance. \nThe West Entrance Station is located five miles south of the junction of Highway 62 and Park Boulevard at Joshua Tree Village. Here is the GPS: https://goo.gl/maps/Z6KV1DENcyN9EWbT6. \nMost people take: I-215 North to CA-60 E/Moreno Valley Fwy and I-10 E to Whitewater\, then take exit 117 from I-10 E. Continue on CA-62 E/29 Palms Hwy. Drive to Park Blvd in San Bernardino County. \nOnce you are in the park grab a map and drive the 15 minutes to the Hidden Valley Nature Trail (https://goo.gl/maps/Z36psL395dr1qtx16). We’ll meet up at the parking lot and start our hike at 10am. This trail is 1.1 miles\, flat\, and typically takes 30 minutes to complete\, but you’ll want to leave some time for climbing some fun boulders on the sides of the trail. \nThen we’ll drive the 6 minutes to the Barker Dam Nature Trail (https://goo.gl/maps/GG9SwKa4UwNwnyfe7). This trail is 1.1 miles\, flat and typically takes 25 minutes to complete. \nWHAT TO BRING?\nPlease bring water\, snacks and a lunch (or buy lunch on the way back). \nWHAT IF I’M LATE?\nIf you miss us at the first hike then please meet us in the parking lot for the Barker Dam trail at 11:30am to rejoin the group.
